Another Amazing Trip to Haiti

Joe and I just returned from a week in the town of Jermemie.  Although we were unable to see Ben and Ephtonline, we still had an incredible experience.  The highlight of the trip was the final day when we got to go to the transition home the kids will live in while the lawyer is going to court in Port-Au-Prince.  We think the kids should move there sometime in the coming month.  The home was amazing.  It had a basketball court, a playground, and even a swimming pool.  Unfortantely they do not have an English teacher at this time, so the kids will only be learning French in school.  It will be an outstanding school.  There are about 50 children at the orphan house.  About 6 children and possibly more will be living there who will be adopted by members of our church.  I have posted some picutres from our visit there.

As far as the medical clinic, we were very fortunate to arrive and find no more children being treated for cholera.  We went to work providing vaccinations to around 130 children living in the orphan village.  We gave over 630 shots in two days.  We also opened the clinic to the community the last three days and saw over 400 people.  We saw a few cases of cholera but thank goodness nothing serious.  Unisef had a clinic set up in town to treat Cholera patients.

We had the chance to hug on, play with and build great bonds with the Haitian orphans.  It is truly amazing for them to allow us the privledge to interupt their lives.  The momas at the orphan village are Godly women who bathe these children in the spirit of Trinity everyday. I heard a statistic about how if 10% of American Christians would adopt a child there would be no orphans.  Sitting with three precious children to whom I grew very attached Jessika, Wilgens, and Loveson; I prayed God would bless them with true love and affection. We would bring many more home if we could.  We suggest each of you take a mission trip if you are ever given the opportunity.  It helps put perspective on the way we live our lives and helps us not take forgranted how truly blessed we are.  Check out the new pictures and our new Haitian made braclets with Our Haitian Hope woven on them.

Please keep the children in your prayers as they will make a scarey transition to a new home very soon.  They will be experiencing many things for the first time such as uninterupted electricity , flushing toliets, and we are sure much much more.
